Free Web Buttons - Create web buttons fast and easy
The buttons found on certain web pages look better and better nowadays. It is obvious that someone spent some time designing them. If you want to keep your own web page up to date with sleek looking buttons, you can avoid spending too much time drawing them by using Free Web Buttons. It will help you create modern web buttons by using a series of easy to access templates. They can be made to look however you want and the program will save them either as individual images or a HTML file.
The software is free and you can get it by downloading the 10 and a half Mb setup kit. The installation wizard will require just a destination path. This is the only step you will have to go through. Once you have specified the path, click the next button and you will have the program up and running in a few seconds.
Buttons can be created by making use of templates. The main area of the interface is where you add your buttons. The options above this area let you add, delete or arrange the buttons. These can be added immediately, without needing to navigate any options windows after clicking the Add button.
A button's design can be changed just by clicking it and double clicking on one of the templates, listed on the right side of the window. These are found in three different categories: add to cart, big dark and glossy. A navigation tab above the list of buttons will take you to a collection of icon templates. You can add these to the buttons also by clicking one in the main area and double clicking an icon template.
After selecting a design for each button, you can label them. Just select one and type your text in the lower area of the window. You can also link a button to a web page in this area by pasting a URL in the designated dialog box. The lower part of the window can be expanded in order to reveal a series of options which will let you further edit the buttons by setting their sizes, color, shadows and more. When everything is done, you can save the buttons as individual files, using formats like .jpg, .png, .gif or .bmp. Alternatively, you can save the whole project as a HTML file.
Pros:
The software lets you create web buttons without drawing anything. You can just select a design from a list of templates and make further adjustments.
Cons:
There is a limited number of templates, and you can't import other ones.
Drawing buttons will take too much of your time. Free Web Buttons offers a wide range of button and icon templates which you can further customize.
